Eurobitume (European Bitumen Association aisbl) is registered in Belgium and based in Brussels. It was established as an international association in 1969, to provide a forum for bitumen producers to share and develop technical and scientific information, in the interests of continually enhancing the industry’s occupational health and safety standards, as well as technical progress.
Aims
The association’s mission is to promote the efficient, effective and safe use of refined bitumen in road, industrial and building applications throughout Europe. Eurobitume aims to sustain a clear and positive technical image of the European bitumen industry; acting as its voice and acknowledged focal point.
Membership
The membership includes national and pan-European bitumen producers and national bitumen associations, conducting business across all EU 27 countries, between them representing around two thirds of the European market: API - Anonima Petroli Italiana SpA (Italy) Activities
Eurobitume operates three expert committees: Health, Safety and the Environment (HSE) Each works to an agreed programme, to provide guidance and support for members and their customers. The committees undertake and prepare reviews that report the scientific and technical issues relating to the handling, application and long-term use of bitumen. They produce relevant data for regulators, along with expert advice and practical guidelines to inform best practice throughout the European bitumen industry. |
